Sameera Thomas joins MURAL Real Estate Partners as Vice President, Director of Capital Markets, bringing institutional lending expertise and an entrepreneurial spirit to the firm’s mission of uplifting underinvested communities through transformative real estate. As Vice President of Capital Markets, Sameera is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and structuring debt and equity transactions, managing the firm’s capital markets relationships, and overseeing investor reporting.
With over ten years of commercial real estate experience, Sameera most recently served as Vice President, Relationship Manager at EagleBank, where she managed an $875 million portfolio and structured, negotiated, and originated credits for institutional borrowers including Tishman Speyer, Bozzuto, Carr Companies, and other prominent regional developers. Her comprehensive understanding of capital structures—from predevelopment through stabilization—positions her uniquely to architect innovative financing solutions that align investor objectives with MURAL’s commitment to catalytic, community-centered development.
Sameera’s diverse background includes experience with boutique law firms specializing in real estate finance and early career work in the non-profit sector, which sparked her passion for inclusive and equitable development. Nominated for GlobeSt’s Fifty Under Forty Award in 2023, she brings proven financial acumen and a deep commitment to leveraging real estate as a tool for positive social impact.
She holds a Master of Professional Studies in Commercial Real Estate Finance from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Maryland. Fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi, and Spanish, Sameera brings a multicultural perspective that deepens MURAL’s ability to authentically engage with the diverse communities the firm serves.
